well, i jsut dont't understand why adults and middled aged people play guild wars.
well im just a kid but i don't find any reason why an adult would play guild wars (except for anet and other such vidoe game companies)
i mean, WHY would they have any reason to play?
won't they think that playing video games is immature or they think that people playing would have something batter to do and stuff like that?

well thats jsut what i think

To escape the real world. Many adults have stressful jobs that they would much rather forget about for a while and just have fun in a fantasy world.

Now I myself am only technically a "young adult" but I have seen my parents, as well as other adults at work, and can tell that many of them really want some way to escape reality once they get home (or at work).

First why do you play it. Im guessing that its a fun game for you right. We'll its the same for us older players. Not to mention most of us where playing games when you whippersnappers where still in diapers, (for those that dont know thats a joke)

You dont want to offend people, but your very close to the edge.
Where does it say that 25 is the max age limit for GW?
It is very clear that your ideas on peopel that play games are 12 -16 year olds, when they are 16 they only go to nightclubs and drink themselfs silly.
This isnt the first and wont be the last game that +25 year old people will play.

The reason GW attracts +25 year old players is simply the way the game is made, have you ever heard of Magic? ( yeah the card game) Guildwars is much like a 3d version of this, if you think hard and good you can come up with something nobody has thought about but thats been there forever.
You dont have to have the most quickest reflexes ( unless playing a monk) to be able to play GW.
GW is a very controlled game, there is no total chaos in it.

They play the game because they : Like it, They dont have to lose their lifes to play it,it looks great, its a fun game,its free and the most important reason they play it because they can,yes they are allowed to play the game as much as you and me are, nothing wrong with that.

Grammatical errors aside, and I don't want to sound mean, but this has got to be one of the most rediculous questions i've seen in a while.

I know a lot of "middle-aged" people that play this game, and they all say the same thing as to why they play, "it is a way to get away from life." Which is also why teenager's and people of all ages play it. Sure it is fun, but when it comes to any video game, they take our minds off of the stresses of day to day life.

Some people play this because it reminds them of when they were younger kids playing AD&D, others play because their kids play it. It doesn't matter who plays it or why, what is important is that they ARE playing Guild Wars.

Just me $.02.

to the OP, I'll be playing Guild Wars untill the servers shutdown... I may be a 65 year old screaming "OMFG NERF SEARING FLAMES! NOOB!", but I'll be happy.

GW is fine for any age group, just as any GAME is fine for any age group. There are no limits here

I don't know why kids play Guild Wars. I mean like, you guys should be doing homework and like, you know, like, not playing games, like, like.

Seriously, why wouldn't people above the age of 13 be playing this game? It's fun for all ages.

Questioning why certain age groups are playing is ridiculous.

True. It is why everyone plays video games. Young people and many others deny this, but its the truth. Look at world of warcraft, people play it a lot because its an highly addictive game. Simply because its "another" world and by that I mean it takes a lot of time to get anywhere. GW is different. It lets you have the chance to have more of a casual style.

I think they meant more along the lines of mental agility.

Of course it could be both. Everyone is a kid at heart, some just won't admit it.

And I was playing online games when that 13 yr old was in diapers. I have a 10 year old, 8 year old, and 6 year old. I am 34.

It's just weird for young adults who are playing a game to imagine someone at the other end who isn't as similar to them as they automatically would think. It's weird to think that we might share the same taste as someone who is twice or three times our age. At the same time, you just have to respect it and concentrate more on how you relate than how you are different. As it is with most things.
